PERMITS
Overnight Parking
Overnight parking is not permitted in the streets of the Town unless you have an overnight parking permit that can be obtained from the Town Hall on a yearly ($150) or monthly ($15) basis.
You may park your vehicle without any permit, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., in the municipal parking lots. If a resident needs a special permit for visitors, please call dispatch at (514) 630-1234 before 3:30 a.m. to obtain authorization from a Public Security Officer.
Daytime Parking
The street parking during the day is regulated by specific signs, up to a maximum of four hours. Rental of parking spaces is available on a yearly ($300) or monthly ($30) basis for the municipal parking lots. Merchants also need a parking permit for the municipal parking lots. The first two permits are free of charge and any additional permits cost $125 yearly or $12.50 monthly.
Snowstorms
During and after snowstorms, residents are asked to respect the temporary no parking signs and refrain from parking on the street in order to permit the free passage of snow removal vehicles and crews. Any vehicle obstructing these operations is liable to be towed and its owner subject to a fine.
Dog Licences
Licences are required for all dogs and are renewable each year, the first day of April. Dog licence can be obtained at Town Hall. The annual fee is $15 if a dog is spayed or neutered or $30 if not. Please provide documents from your veterinarian. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
Bicyle Helmets
Bicycle helmets are mandatory for any person riding a bicycle in and through Montreal West. Residents should also take note that bicycles are not to be ridden on sidewalks.
